
Ekiti State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Mr.
Foluso Daramola has said that arrangements are in top gear for the
successful hosting of the 2019 World Teachers Day Celebration by the
State Government.
The Commissioner, who made this known in Ado-Ekiti, disclosed that
over 21,000 Teachers in both Public and Private Primary and Secondary
Schools in the state will take part in this year’s celebration, tagged
‘Young Teacher the Future of the Profession’, slated for Saturday, 5th
October, 2019, at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti.
Dararmola, who pledged that the Fayemi Administration would continue
to accord more priority to the Capacity Building Programme for
Teachers in both Primary and Secondary Schools in the State, made it
known that over 3,000 Teachers in both Public Primary and Secondary
Schools across the state have been trained this year on Modern
Teaching Techniques.
He revealed that the present administration recently sponsored 60
Science Teachers to the 60th Annual General Conference of Science
Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), held in Kano State in August.
The Commissioner, who noted that Education is the bedrock of human
development, added that this was one major reason for the
establishment of Knowledge Economy which is one of the five pillars of
Dr. Kayode Fayemi administration in JKF-2.
