Fayemi inaugurates “State Project Monitoring Committee” of Rural Access & Agricultural Marketing Project as part of requirements for its take off.
The committee is to be chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Engr. Oluwadare Abegunde while S.A on Road, Transport and Infrastructure to the Governor, Mr. Sunday Adunmo will serve as the Secretary.
Other members of the committee are: Mr Ganiyu Balogun, Mrs. Yemi Kayode-Ojo, Mr. Ogundele Babalola, Mrs. Usinkalu Oluropo and Engr. Adeniji Oyewole.
Performing the inauguration in Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Fayemi urged the committee members to see their nomination as an opportunity to contribute their quota towards banishing poverty and restoring the values of people of the state especially farmers.
The Governor who spoke through the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji, stressed that as government duely committed to due process, all procedures must be followed to ensure the success of RAMP.
He explained that they are not to take over the responsibility of RAMP but to collaborate, offer advice and give direction to them in order to assist in delivering on set mandate.
Responding on behalf of other members of the committee, the Chairman, Engr. Oluwadare Abegunde thanked the Governor for the opportunity given them to serve.
He promised they would work in tandem with the drive of the present administration to confront the challenges bedevilling farmers in rural communities across the state.
