Ekiti#GossyRestored#GossyWater
Indeed one date to note & keep in #Ekiti annals….
His Excellency, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi will commission the Gossy Water Production Plant on Tuesday 14th May, 2019, by 10am, at Ikogosi.
I think this will educate our friends who have been shamelessly and consciencelessly defending the liquidation of Ikogosi under the administration of Ex- Gov Fayose with the lame excuse that Fayose’s government didn’t run Gossy water:
- Before the liquidation of Gossy Water Ltd, Ekiti State Govt owned more than 20% shares in the business, meaning they are in partnership. UAC and EKSG owned the business together.
- The business environment became very tough, uncomfortable and very unconducive for UAC as Fayose was making unnecessary demands from UAC, their power was cut off and of course the entire power of Ikogosi, Erijiyan and Ipole Iloro for 4 years. The cost of running the business became so high and unbearable coupled with unnecessary and unprecedented demands and taxes from Fayose led State Govt.
The company became insolvent and bankrupt , and hence liquidated. - Fayemi Govt restored the entire Ikogosi, Erijiyan and Ipole Iloro power.
Fayemi Govt provided a conducive environment for the business to come back by waiving all those unwanted taxes levied by the Fayose Govt.
Fayemi visited the plant on assumption of duty, had several meetings with the management and collaborated for the smooth take off of the rebranded Gossy Water.
He equally assigned one of his aides to work with the management to ensure Gossy Water comes back to the market in no time.
This is the difference between Fayose who did not care about any Ekiti commonwealth that would not bring immediate gains to his pocket and Fayemi who is truly the friend of the masses. There is no gainsaying the fact that Fayemi is truly reclaiming our land and restoring our values.
