Two residents of Karmajiji (Karon Majigi) village in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, have been killed after a Department of State Services (DSS) operative allegedly opened fire on them, while another victim remains critically injured.
The operative, identified as **Ajayi Abayomi**, reportedly fled after the incident, which occurred on **January 19, 2026**, and has refused to honour police invitations to assist with investigations.

According to police sources, three men were going about their lawful activities when the operative allegedly discharged his firearm. One of the victims, Musa Adamu, died shortly after the shooting, while Mallam Suleiman Salisu succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday at the Federal Medical Centre, Abuja. A third victim, Abdullahi Ahmed, is currently battling for his life.
Abayomi reportedly told police the shooting was accidental, claiming the trigger was pulled unintentionally.
Families of the victims have demanded justice, describing the incident as an unjustified and tragic loss of innocent lives, as security agencies continue efforts to locate and arrest the suspect.
