Your legacy as a loyal party man, a progressive to the core, a lover of humanity, a friend of the masses, and a master mobilizer and strategist is well known across Ekiti State and beyond. Since your first election in 2011 to the House of Representatives, where you served with distinction until 2015, you consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership and legislative competence.
During your tenure representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency I, you were recognized as a formidable voice in the Green Chamber. You actively contributed to debates, sponsored meaningful motions, and served as Vice-Chairman of the House Committee on Millennium Development Goals, among other impactful roles.
Beyond your contributions to national legislative work, your deep commitment to the welfare of the constituents stands out remarkably. One of the most transformative legacies of your service was the delivery of the 32-bed Joan Taiwo Daramola Memorial Hospital in Ire-Ekiti a privately funded, world-class health facility that has expanded access to quality healthcare in our community and continues to serve countless families.
In recent years, long after leaving the National Assembly, you have continued to serve the people in innovative and impactful ways. A shining example is your BAOWALK initiative a monthly health and fitness exercise designed to promote physical wellness and healthy lifestyles among Ekiti residents.
Launched across the 16 local government areas of the state, this initiative has drawn widespread participation from people of all ages, encouraging regular physical activity as a preventive health measure.
The BAOWALK programme is not merely about walking; it represents a broader vision of community health education. Participants engage in extended walks spanning several kilometres, receive wellness talks, and are enlightened on the importance of exercise in preventing hypertension, diabetes, and other non-communicable diseases.
The introduction of structured Health and Fitness Cards for regular participants further demonstrates your forward-thinking approach to sustainable healthcare advocacy.Indeed, this initiative has strengthened social cohesion, promoted healthy living, and reinforced the culture of preventive healthcare across Ekiti State.Honourable Daramola, at this crucial moment in our state’s political evolution, your experience and strategic depth are even more needed.
