
The Ekiti State Police Command has arraigned a 49-year-old man, Saheed Rasaki, before a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged case of th€ft.
Presenting the case, the prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, informed the court that Rasaki, along with other suspects who are still at large, allegedly conspired to st€al 1,000 litres of petrol valued at ₦1.3 million. The fuel is said to belong to one Oso Babatunde.
The offence reportedly took place in Ado-Ekiti on March 23, 2026.
The prosecutor further stated that the defendant and his accomplices acted in a manner likely to breach public peace by unlawfully converting the petrol for personal use.
According to him, the alleged offences contravene Sections 421, 301, and 181(d) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
In his submission, defence counsel, Barrister O.G. Abiola, appealed to the court to grant his client bail, assuring that he would not abscond.
Delivering his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦150,000, with two sureties in like sum.
The case was subsequently adjourned until April 23 for further hearing.
