
Dignitaries, media personalities and well-wishers gathered in Iwo, Osun State on Saturday to celebrate veteran journalist, Tunde Rahman, on the occasion of his installation as Ba’á Ìròyìn of Iwoland, his 60th birthday, and the launch of the STRIDE Initiative.
The revered Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, presided over the installation ceremony, conferring the traditional title on Rahman in recognition of his contributions to journalism and public communication.
Rahman, a Nigerian journalist and media adviser, currently serves as Senior Special Assistant on Media and Special Duties to President Bola Tinubu.
The grand reception attracted prominent guests from across the country, marking a triple celebration that combined tradition, personal milestones and developmental advocacy.
The event was characterised by colourful displays, cultural performances and tributes from associates, colleagues and admirers who praised Rahman’s impact in the media space and beyond.
Speakers at the event highlighted his professional achievements and commitment to national development, describing his elevation as well deserved.

The celebration also featured the official launch of the STRIDE Initiative, aimed at promoting growth and development through strategic engagement and empowerment programmes.
