I must say, your self-aggrandizement could fill the Sahara with its pompous sand dunes. Chief (Dr.) Reuben Adeleye Abati, the self-proclaimed sage of journalism, the once mighty advisor to the President, now a relic wrapped in the guise of expertise.

You, who have married your ego to many a fair lady, leaving behind a trail of intellectual conquests or perhaps just conquests. You, who deigns not to mentor for fear of your own shadow being outshone.

Let’s cut to the chase, shall we? I watched your so-called interview on AriseTV with Felix Morka, a spectacle where you, Vimbai, and Ayo were meant to enlighten but instead, you chose to perform a circus act. Your line of questioning was less journalism and more a witch hunt, with Felix Morka as your unwitting prey.

Your queries, dripping with suggestive venom, aimed to corner Felix into naming the “Obidients” as his tormentors. How you painted them with every degrading brush in your palette before even asking the question is the mark of a man not just biased, but downright malicious.

You knew full well Morka was playing a game of reverse psychology, trying to deflect after his own threats against Peter Obi. Yet, in your twisted glee, you ignored this, choosing instead to fixate on a group you seem to despise. Why, Reuben? Why does the very mention of Obidients make you squirm like a worm on a hot sidewalk? Is it because they represent a new Nigeria, one that questions, demands accountability, and doesn’t bow to the likes of your outdated bravado?

You, who should be a herald of truth, instead hurl insults and abuse at the youth, expecting no backlash. You’re not just a coward; you’re a relic in a rapidly modernizing world, clinging to relevance like a barnacle on a ship that’s long sailed past. Vimbai and Ayo, bless their professionalism, did not follow your lead into pettiness, subtly showing you how irrelevant you’ve become.

Here’s some advice, Reuben, since you seem to lack the humility to seek it yourself: Shed your “àgbàyà” cloak. The youth, the Obidients, they are the pulse of Nigeria now. They will not only drag you through the mud but will make sure you’re buried in it if you continue to play the fool. You think your camera and your chair give you power? Think again. You’re but a grain of sand in the storm of progress these young minds are brewing.

So, rest, Reuben. Take the Obidients out of your mouth unless you want to choke on the dust of your own irrelevance. The new Nigeria isn’t just coming; it’s here, and it’s ready to sweep away those who refuse to evolve or listen.
