It is with great joy and profound admiration that I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you, Engr. Kayode Olubunmi Ojo, on your redeployment as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Federal University Lokoja.
It has been my distinct privilege, guided by divine providence, to have worked closely with you as a member of the Governing Council of Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), where your exceptional leadership left an indelible mark. From the outset of your tenure at FUOYE, you displayed an extraordinary depth of wisdom, unparalleled foresight, and a calm, balanced approach to decision-making.
You envisioned a transformative future for the university and promptly set about implementing a strategic roadmap to elevate FUOYE into the ranks of the finest universities in Africa. Despite initial criticisms and challenges that loomed before your arrival, you handled them with grace, understanding, and a commitment to harmonious collaboration with the university’s management.
This rare capacity for fostering unity and progress earned you well-deserved accolades across the institution. Few leaders in FUOYE’s history have made as profound an impact in so short a time as you did. Your tenure was characterized by a relentless pursuit of excellence, staff-focused initiatives, and an unwavering dedication to enhancing the welfare of both staff and students. Your administration approved numerous staff benefits and introduced policies that prioritized inclusivity, fairness, and staff well-being, thereby igniting a renewed sense of hope and loyalty within the university community.
Your visionary leadership extended beyond welfare policies. Your passion for creating an enabling academic environment and fostering a culture of collaboration and respect was truly remarkable. Under your stewardship, FUOYE experienced a refreshing wave of positive change, with your hands-on approach ensuring that every decision aligned with the institution’s long-term goals. Yet, as is often the case in political governance and administration circumstances beyond your control cut short your wonderful tenure.
The complexities of university governance sometimes bring about unexpected changes, and while your time at FUOYE was brief, your influence was monumental. The aspirations you instilled, the initiatives you spearheaded, and the values you exemplified will continue to inspire the Governing Council, management, staff and students of our great University. The love and support you garnered from Governing Council members, management, staff, and students alike are a testament to your integrity, compassion, and dedication. You understood that the heartbeat of any university is its people, and you worked tirelessly to ensure that the FUOYE community thrived under your care.
As we bid farewell to this chapter of your service to FUOYE, we celebrate your achievements and unwavering commitment to excellence. Your legacy is one of inspiration, and your contributions will be remembered with deep appreciation and respect. While your departure leaves a void, we are comforted by the knowledge that your successor, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, OFR, CON, SAN, will build on the strong foundation you have laid, steering FUOYE to even greater heights.
As you embark on your new journey at Federal University Lokoja, I wish you a tenure filled with success, impact, and fulfillment. Your exceptional leadership qualities, boundless vision, and passion for development will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy there as well.
On behalf of myself and the entire FUOYE community, I express my sincere gratitude for your remarkable contributions. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. May your path be adorned with continued success and may the light of your exemplary leadership shine ever.
