A Nigerian man residing in Libya is appealing for assistance in locating the family of a young girl from Benue State who recently died in the North African country. The deceased, identified as a native of Tse Uzo, Zaki Biam in Ukum Local Government Area, reportedly passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025. Akuraga Joseph, a Nigerian based in Libya, shared the news via Facebook.
He explained that he was alerted to the girl’s critical condition and rushed to her side. According to him, she appeared severely ill, with noticeable swelling in her abdomen and yellowing of her eyes — symptoms that raised immediate concern.
Joseph said he had planned to take her home but was told that members of the Nigerian Union in Libya were on their way to see her. He stepped away briefly, but upon returning around 10 a.m. the next day, he discovered she had passed away.
Medical reports indicated that the cause of death was kidney failure. Joseph is now calling on members of the public, especially those from Tse Uzo or who know the family of a man named Uba — believed to be the girl’s father — to contact him via his Facebook inbox.
