ANAMBRA STATE WELFARE ASSOCIATION, MALAYSIA (ASWAM) campaigns against trafficking and sexual exploitation of women and girls in Malaysia.
Anambra State Welfare Association, Malaysia (ASWAM) embarks on a statewide mass mobilisation campaign against Anambra women and girls falling victims of sex trafficking and commercial exploitation.
According to the President of the diaspora organisation Mr. Mmaduka Okwunwanne, the increasing involvement of Anamabra state women and girls in the booming international sex trade is becoming worrisome to the association considering the many. risks and challenges associated with it.
Mr. Okwunwanne opined that their association os.committed to addressing the increasing menace observing that it is not in the character of hardworking Igbo men and women, and girls to resort to trafficking in women for sexual purposes.
The Secretary to the association Bishop Shinkafi explained further that tge group will be embarking on community to community campaign, and an official visit to the State Government/ Governor to take the campaign home.
