Makkah Eye Specialist Hospital, a subsidiary of Al-Basar International Foundation, has dragged WikkiTimes, its Publisher and reporter over an investigative report, it considers defamatory. The hospital is demanding N1 billion in damages from the publication which it says has “maliciously” defamed the plaintiff. Details of the summons served on WikkiTimes also prayed that the plaintiff will also be paid another 100,000,000 “for the inconveniences and trauma suffered by the plaintiff” N5,000,000 as cost of the suit and solicitors fees. Nigeria’s removal from the US travel ban list follows the issuance of an executive order by President Biden seeking to reverse the travel bans put in place under the previous Trump administration that affected several African and Muslim-majority countries. An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan on Monday ordered the Alajaawa of Ajaawa in Ogo-Oluwa Local Government of the state, Oba Thompson Oyetunji to vacate his stool, and stop parading himself as the monarch of the town. The victims of inter-ethnic violence in Shasha market have started counting their losses after their properties were destroyed in a violent attack that targeted northern traders in Ibadan, a city in Southwest Nigeria.
