The October rain was falling in torrents. It was a blessed Sunday afternoon and the rain was falling and abating at will and uneven intervals.
Debbie of Ekiti One Tour had earlier called to inform me that she would come with Khafi of BBN. Oh, I think I’ve read something about the name somewhere. Unfortunately, good old fashioned me don’t watch such programmes. But Khafi Kareem… I read she is a police officer from Scotland Yard. She was a participant of BBN. She’s from Ekiti. She is this and that. Fine, whatever her pedigree is, she is a young ambitious blogger and I immediately decided to personally attend to this promising young lady.
Coincidentally, I was in the company of the Ekiti State Deputy Commissioner of Police John Babangida who also came sight-seeing at the Poolside when she came with her crew. I didn’t have to introduce her to the DCP after all as they met the previous day at Pathfinder Hotel, Ado Ekiti.
She was so respectful and humble in her approach. The rain not withstanding, I led her group to begin the tour.
I showed her the unusual cohabitation of the timber and palm-tree sharing the same roots. She was so ecstatic and amazed as she felt the contrasting differences in the temperatures of the waters as I made her to walk across from the warm through the cold. I showed her the four different springs. We visited the three meeting points – Warm and Cold, Cold and Cold and Warm and Warm. You really should have seen her excitements as I told her the myths surrounding the springs. She recorded videos of my explanations and storytelling.
‘Sir, just wait till you see all these in my blog very soon’ she said beaming with smiles. ‘I will surely showcase this place to the world. This is so amazing! Thanks for being my Tour Guide’.
