CASE STUDY “FESTUS ADEBAYO” IN E-Thuggery. By Fredrick Nwabufo
I have been reading protestations against the appointment of Festus Adebayo, who is a columnist at TheCable, as special adviser to Senate President Ahmed Lawan on media and communications.
The aggrieved people say he is an enemy because he has been criticising Buhari and the APC.
They demand that the appointment be made from the e-thugs among them.
Really, when some persons choose the enterprise of nuisance on social media as a profession in the name of “influencer” year after year, with no capacity, experience or training, they should not expect to be taken seriously.
The job of senate president is an onerous one that requires a highly-skilled and competent team, and not some internet infestations.
Critical offices should not be outsourced on the basis of loyalty, but on competence. This was Buhari’s mistake in the era of change. I hope it is corrected this time.
