
Community leaders, chiefs and traditional rulers have been urged to
join hands with the Community Based Targeting (CBT) Team of the Youth
Empowerment and Social Support Operation (YESSO), to expand the Single
Register (Data Base) of the poor and vulnerable households in Ekiti
state.
The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Femi Ajayi,
made the call while addressing journalists in his office in Ado-Ekiti.
Hon. Ajayi stated that the exercise which started some years back is
to expand the Data Base of the poor and the vulnerable people in nine
local government areas of the state, adding that the exercise will
include community sensitization, mobilization and community engagement
process.
Ajayi, who disclosed the nine local government areas to be Ado,
Ise/Orun, Ikere, Irepodun/ Ikole, Ijero, Ekiti East, Ekiti South West
and Ido/Osi, explained that the purpose of the exercise is to update
the record of the poor and the vulnerable households in the state for
planning purposes.
He however seeks the support of the community leaders to join hands
with the CBT Team to mobilize their community members for the exercise
during which the poor and vulnerable households will be identified and
selected by the communities themselves.
The exercise lasts from 6th September, 2019 to 12th October, 2019.
