
Ekiti State Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, Aare Muyiwa Olumilua has urged Ekiti residents not to panic as Nigeria records the first case of Coronavirus.
Olumilua stated that there are steps to be taken by the people in order to reduce the risks of coronavirus infection.
The Commissioner urged residents to imbibe proper hygiene culture of washing hands with soap and water or an alcohol based rub.
He added that people should cover their mouth and nose with tissue when coughing or sneezing, while also avoiding close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms.

Olumilua said the virus is spread from an infected person to another when there is a close contact such as touching and handshake as well as touching one’s mouth during a contact with an object that’s infected .
The Information Commissioner listed the symptoms of the virus to include running nose, headache, cough, fever, and sore throat.
He said people should imbibe the hygiene culture rather than become panicky about the virus.
