A middle aged woman who pretends to be homeless and visually impaired on the street of Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital has been exposed as a fraud.
The woman who introduced herself as Chiamaka was caught at the popular Fajuyi park in Ado Ekiti where she begs for alms daily alongside an eight years old girl who always serve as her guide.
The woman told reporters that she make more money begging on the streets of Ado than she would do if she had a job and once made in a day.
The acclaimed blind woman was apprehended by a good Samaritan (Bar. Seyi Ojo) who sympathised with the young girl who guide her for not being in school like her peers, and was taken to the first lady’s office,Erelu Bisi Fayemi for interrogation.
However, luck ran out of Chiamaka as she was suspected by a detective at the first lady’s office to be blind when she was not.
The visually impaired woman consequently opened her eyes with tears flow freely.
She pleaded to be treated with leniency, adding that she was a victim of circumstances as she claimed to have no husband or who to cater for her.
She further told her interrogators that she always travelled from Ikare Akoko to beg for alms in Ado Ekiti under the guise of being visually impaired.
Meanwhile, Chiamaka has been handed over to the police for further investigation and how she got the girl who happened to be her guide.
