The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Abdul Afeez Olarenwaju Olabisi wanted for his alleged involvement in a fuel subsidy scam that cost the Nigerian government N976,653,110.28. Olabisi, a former official of the now-defunct Fargo Petroleum and Gas Limited, is accused of participating in a fraudulent scheme involving bogus oil subsidy claims.
According to a statement released by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, Olabisi absconded after being granted bail while on trial before a Lagos State High Court. His co-defendants, Mamman Nasir Ali and Christian Taylor, were convicted and sentenced to 14 years in prison on May 27, 2025.
The EFCC has urged the public to assist in locating the suspect, who is 44 years old, hails from Kwara State, and speaks Yoruba, Hausa, and English fluently. His last known address was 192 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Anyone with information on Olabisi’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact any EFCC office across the country, including locations in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt, or Abuja.
