
South West Association of Nigerian Authors (SWANA) held its third conference in Ado just as the Ekiti Chapter honoured the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye, Chief of State to the Governor, Hon Biodun Omoleye and former Legal Adviser of the association, Barr Ahmed Maiwada.
The event come up a day after the investiture of the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, as the Grand Patron of the association in Ekiti State.

Just like the investiture of the Governor, the dinner was attended by the National President, Mallam Denja Abdullahi and two former Presidents of the association, Odia Ofeimun and Dr Okediran respectively.
The business meeting of SWANA held at AB Hotels at 10:00am where issues affecting the interest of ANA in the South West was discussed. After the meeting, there was reading of literary works where two Presidential aspirants of the association, Ahmed Maiwada and Chike Ofili address members.

Thereafter, the grand finale of the convention was ushered in with a Dinner/award ceremony which started at 2:00pm at AB Hotel. Conferred with different awards are the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Funminiyi Afuye who bags Outstanding Leadership award and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Abiodun Omoleye who bags Outstanding Dedication to Service award.
Others given awards were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon Rufus Adumo, Dr Solomon Iguanre from Babcock University, Ilishan and Dr Chris Omotosho from Federal College of Education, Osiele in Ogun State.
Apart from the Proprietor of Providence Group of School, Chief Obafemi Ojo who will be given award, two other organizations will also bag corporate awards. They are: Portofino Eatery and Shepard Group of Schools.
Winners of the Essay Competition organized by the association also received award at the events.
Meanwhile, Governor Kayode Fayemi played host of the National leadership of ANA yesterday at Oke Ayoba where he treated them to a sumptuous dinner. In the delegates are: National President, Mallam Denja Abdullahi, Dr Wale Okediran, Odia Ofeimun and tgecnewly reelected Chairman, Akogun Tai Oguntayo.
