As Public Primary schools are warming up to resume a new academic session in Ekiti State,the State Government has commenced another round of training programme for food vendors and other Stakeholders who are participating in the Ekiti Kete School Meal Programme.
Speaking at the training, the SSA School Feeding, Hon. Demola Obanise said the training programme is to prepare the food vendors, Aggregators and Cold Chain Partners for the continuation of Home Grown School Feeding Programme and also ensure that our laid down high standards are maintained in handling the food.
Hon. Obanise noted that though there has been a significant improvement in Primary Schools enrolment, small farming development and health improvement across the state as a result of the School feeding programme but the Fayemi – led administration will continue to intesify efforts at embarking on initiatives that would attract pupils to public schools thereby increasing enrolment .
The Senior Special Assistant who is also the Project Manager reiterated that distribution of Cooking Utensils, earlier purchased by the State Government for over 1284 food vendors in the State, will begin on Tuesday, 10th September, 2019 at the Fajuyi Pavilion.
The training was held in the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
