
Ekiti government restated commitment to improving electricity supply
Governor Kayode Fayemi-led administration in Ekiti State has
reiterated its commitment to ensuring improved electricity power
supply to all the nooks and crannies of the state to facilitate
industrial development and improved economic activities.
The Commissioners for Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Engr.
Bamidele Faparusi and his counterpart in the Ministry of Lands,
Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Adewale Febisola gave the
assurance during an on the spot assessment of the 132/33 KVA
substation along Omisanjana in Ado-Ekiti.
The duo who observed that the power station was underutilized
explained that the visit became necessary in order to ascertain the
constraints that are associated with power distribution to the people
with a view to finding a lasting solution to them.
Emphasizing that energy was an essential factor in the overall
development of any given society, the combined team in their resolve
promised to engage relevant stakeholders to proffer lasting solution
to the issue of right of way and proper channelization of the area.
In her remarks, the Special Adviser, Ministry of Lands Housing and
Urban Development, Mrs. Olufunke Falodun maintained that the present
administration would ensure an even distribution of electricity to all
and sundry.
