Ekiti State Head of Service, Mrs Olapeju Babfemi has said the state government under the administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi is paying greater attention to capacity building and training of the workforce in spite of paucity of fund.
Babafemi stated this while playing host to the leadership of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria in her office on Friday.
She noted that the State Civil Service is blessed with people with great intellectual abilities, who only need training on the job to bring out the best in them. This, according to her, the State government has embarked on, with capacity building for workers across the cadres.
She promised to embark on more trainings and capacity building for the workforce, saying, ‘don’t blame them, if you can’t train them’.
She further pledged a robust relationship with leadership of Institutions as well as other stakeholders in Ekiti State.
Earlier, the the Registrar of the Institute, Mr Obitunde Obiyemi described the new Head of Service as a committed member of the Institute, noting that her contributions has helped to strengthen the Institute.
He pledged the support of the Institute to the State Civil Service towards bridging leadership gap and ensuring a virile Civil Service in the State.
He further commended the state government for finding two members of the Institute, Mrs Peju Babafemi and The General Manager of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State, BSES, Mr Olu Popoola worthy of leadership positions.
