VIDEO: Last week, Ekiti State Government invited the public to participate in the distribution of relief materials by nominating a vulnerable family in their neighbourhood through the radio and online platforms. The initiative was tagged “My Neighbour’s Keeper”. #COVID19
Following successful verification of nominations, the food packs were delivered to their homes. #COVID19
Recall that Governor @kfayemi promised to intervene in the best way possible to ease the effects of the #COVID19 hardship on the vulnerable segment in Ekiti State. It was in the fulfilment of this promise that he flagged-off the distribution of palliative food supplies in April.
The first batch of the 20,000 relief materials, which are in the form of food packs, were distributed to only identified vulnerable households, most of whom were extracted from the social register of Ekiti State vulnerable people’s Support Programme.
“My Neighbour’s Keeper” is a complementary programme to extend the relief materials to vulnerable households who may not be captured in the State’s social register but are presently in dire need of intervention during the lockdown of Ekiti State.
