EKITI POLICE COMMAND PRESS BRIEFING/PARADE OF SUSPECTS.
Gentlemen of the Press,You are welcome to today’s press briefing aimed at showcasing some of the achievements recorded by Nigeria Police Force, Ekiti State Command in crime prevention, Control and detection.
I want to reiterate the Command determination and commitment to enhance robust policing to actualize the transformation and repositioning Agenda of the Inspector General of Police, Ag. IGP. Mohammed A. Adamu NPM, mni.
The Police Command will continue to work within the ambit of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
To achieve this, community policing concept is to be used as a strategy.
I therefore continuously seek the cooperation, collaboration and partnership from members of the public by giving useful and timely information to enable the Command rid the State of all forms of criminality.
During the week under review, the Police Command clamped down on suspected notorious criminal syndicate in connection with different heinous crime.
- CASE ONE: CASE OF MURDER AND CULTISM:- On 27/12/2018 following Intelligence report, operatives of the Command arrested one Jimoh Ibrahim Suleiman Mukaila a.k.a “M.K”, a member of supreme “Eiye” confraternity secret cult group in Ado-Ekiti.
The suspect was alleged by one Babatunde Ojo to have been involved in the killing of one Sheu Oluwaseun ‘m’ aged 26yrs who was shot dead at the front of a beer parlour in Idolofin Area of Ado-Ekiti.
The suspect admitted to be an accomplice and witnessed the killing of the victim. Investigation in progress. - CASE TWO: CASE OF CONSPIRACY AND ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY:- On the 26/04/2019 at about 2200hrs, the operatives of the Command received a distress call from the resident of a former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Paul Olatunji Alabi. One Adebayo Adebusuyi ‘m’ an armed robber was arrested at the scene of crime while other members of his group took to their heels. The arrested suspect made confessional statement to the commission of the crime and indicted other members of his gang. On further investigation, one Oguntuase Taiwo ‘m’ a.k.a “Abuta” an accomplice in the crime was arrested in a criminal hideout at textile area, Ado-Ekiti. Oguntuase Taiwo also confessed to the crime. During a search operation in the house and premises of the suspects; one pistol loaded with three (3) rounds of live ammunition, one pump action gun, one double barrel gun, and two single barrel guns were recovered in their possession. Investigation is in progress for possible arrest of other fleeing suspects.

- Oguntuase Taiwo James ‘m’ a.k.a “Abuta”

- CASE THREE: CONSPIRACY AND ARMED ROBBERY:- On the 28/03/2019 at about 1100hrs, one Fadairo Samuel Oyindamola, a notorious armed robber was arrested in Ado-Ekiti by operatives of the Command. Upon the arrest of the suspect, information had it that the suspect and his gang members attacked a victim at his barbing saloon on the 13th of March, 2019 at about 2100hrs around Adehun Area of Ado-Ekiti and robbed him of five (5) mobile phones and other valuables.
The suspect made confessional statement to the commission of the crime and mentioned his associate in the commission of the crime as one Adegboye Ola Sunday who was later arrested.
Both suspects have confessed to have also robbed some occupant of a building located opposite Ekute Primary School, Ekute quarters, Ado-Ekiti on the 15th of March, 2019.
Two (2) cut to size single barrel guns and two (2) live cartridges were recovered from the house and premises of the suspects. Upon conclusive investigation, the suspects will be prosecuted.

- CASE FOUR: CASE OF CONSPIRACY AND ARMED ROBBERY:- On 04/05/2019 at about 2100hrs, one Ekundayo Olatunde a.k.a “Ekun” was arrested upon a tip off in a criminal hideout along old Emure road, Ise-Ekiti. During execution of search warrant in the house and premises of the arrested suspect; one locally made pistol, one single barrel gun, assorted criminal charms, nine (9) live cartridges of ammunition and quantity of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered.
Intensified effort by the operatives of the Command led to the arrest of one Ogunmuyite Odunayo a.k.a “007” the participator in the commission of crime.
On the 8th of May, 2019 at about 1130hrs, identification parade of suspects was conducted in a related case of armed robbery where one of the victim of armed robbery; identified Ogunmuyi Odunayo a.k.a “007” to be among a gang of armed robbers that robbed and shot him at his residence located at Oke Ureje Area, Ado-Ekiti on the 24th of March, 2019 at about 2115hrs. investigation is still in progress.
