
The Chairman of Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission (EKSIEC), Hon. Justice Aladejana ably represented by Mr. Babatunde Akilo while speaking recently at the Complex of Ekiti State House of Assembly in Ado-Ekiti has said that the purpose of the parley with the House Committee on SIEC is to update the arrangement of the Commission.

He said that the Commission held a Stakeholders meeting with political parties, security chiefs etc. for the purpose of openess, transparency and accountability.
He expressed readiness of the Commission to undertake a tour of the Commission’s area offices from Monday 9, 2019.

He presented a copy of guidelines for the Local Government Election and copies of notice of election to the Chairman and members of the Committee.
He Said the Commission have been operating to keep the process going.
In his response, Chairman of the House Committee Hon. Akeem Jamiu appreciated Ekiti SIEC for a job well done.

He however said there is need to work together because the 26 members of the House of Assembly are close to the grassroot.
He appreciated the Chairman for his constant touch with the Committee and appeal for continuity.
He charged the Commission to be transparent in the forthcoming Local Government Council Election.

The Executive Secretary of the Commission Mrs. Modupe Akinbolawa acknowledged the House Committee on SIEC for their encouragement and solicited their maximum cooperation in order to actualize the objectives of the Commission to the benefit of the people of Ekiti State.
