Ekiti SUBEB Boss tasks staff on education reform
The newly appointed Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic
Education Board (SUBEB), Prof Fransisca Aladejana has charged the
staff of the Board to key into the on-going reforms in the education
sector as initiated by Dr. Kayode Fayemi-led administration.
Professor Aladejana, who gave the charge during the inaugural meeting
she had with the management and staff of the Board in Ado Ekiti, said
the reform is aimed at repositioning the education Sector in the
state.
She assured that the current leadership in the state would put in
place credible modalities that would enhance qualitative basic
education and restore the glory of education in public schools across
the state.
Aladejana said that the board would collaborate with all major
stakeholders in the basic education sector to ensure that all children
of school age in the state have unrestricted access to free and
qualitative education through proper implementation of the SUBEB laws.
The SUBEB boss, who promised to run an open administration, however
charged members of staff to be more diligent and shun vices such as
truancy, rumor mongering and every other untoward attitudes that are
counterproductive.
She also solicited the cooperation of the entire staff and management
of SUBEB for herself and the newly appointed Commissioner 1 of the
Board, Mrs Funke Fajobi to move the board and the basic education
sector to an enviable standard.
In her response, the Permanent Secretary in the Board, Dr. (Mrs.)
Eunice Oladimeji, who welcomed the new Boss to the establishment,
promised that the staff would rededicate themselves to accomplish the
tasks ahead.
Mrs. Oladimeji commended the current leadership in the state for its
support and decisive steps toward reforming the basic education sector
in the state, affirming that the recent restructuring exercise carried
out in the Board was already yielding positive results.
Professor Frascisca Aladejana, the new Ekiti State SUBEB Chairman is a
Professor of Science Education at the Obafemi Awolowo University,
Ile-Ife and the immediate past Provost of College of Education,
Ikere-Ekiti.
