The Ekiti State Ministry of Health and Human Services said it has
concluded plans to partner the Nigeria Police Force to checkmate all
medical related quackery in the state.
The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Mojisola Yaya-
Kolade made this known in Ado-Ekiti when she led the State Committee
on Medical Quackery set up by the Ekiti State Government on a courtesy
visit to the office of the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State
Command, Amba Asuquo.
Yaya-Kolade echoed that Dr. Kayode Fayemi government will not spare
any quack doctor caught practicing in Ekiti State.
“Ekiti state is not where you can practice medicine without authentic
certificate because the life of every Ekiti resident is precious to us
and we can’t afford to lose any to the so called quacks”, she said.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police, Amba Asuquo lauded the efforts
of Ekiti State Government in identifying and checkmating quacks that
parade themselves as doctors.
“We are ready to work closely with the Health Ministry to prosecute
anyone caught engaging in medical practice without authorization. They
hide under medical practice to kill people of Ekiti and we can’t
continue to watch them again. Enough is enough”, He said.
