
Ekiti United FC in “Make or Break” match of the 2018/19 NFL season
Ekiti united football club will on Sunday play its last match in the Nigeria National football league 2018/2019 and the crucial match which has been dubbed make or break will be against Gateway FC from Abeokuta.
Gateway FC will be approaching the match with the mind to avenge the home draw against Ekiti united in Abeokuta at the beginning of the season.
Sunday’s match at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium is very crucial to Ekiti united as maximum 3 points will guarantee their continued stay in the NNL season even though Gateway fc has no pressure on them other than the desire to take back their pound of flesh by trying to force Ekiti united to a draw at home.
Coach Ademola Agbana while speaking during a training session preparatory to the match billed for Sunday assured that the players of Ekiti united were prepared psychologically, mentally, physically and even spiritually to ensure victory saying the victory on Sunday will be dedicated to all the football fans in Ekiti state who had stood by Ekiti united through-out the season.
The commissioner for youth and sport development, Mr Adewumi Awopetu commended all members of the sports writers association of Nigeria-Swan Ekiti state chapter for doing their best towards promoting the team and sport genrslly in Ekiti state.
The commissioner while speaking in his office said a special package awaits sport journalists on Sunday during the match between Ekiti united fc and Gateway fc.
He said the special package which could be a token is to say thank you to them for their regular and accurate reportage of Ekiti united news even when things were rough.
On the path of the supporters club,the chairman, Ekiti United supporters club, Sunday Afolabi said there will be thunderous sound of trumpet and drum on Sunday as the supporters will be on ground to cheer Ekiti united to victory in the crucial encounter.
Afolabi urged everyone who has Ekiti blood flowing in his vein to come to the Oluyemi Kayode stadium on Sunday by 3:30pm to enjoy the match which he said would be scintillating.
