There is no denying the fact that there can be no meaningful development without the necessary infrastructural facilities in place. Part of the yardsticks for measuring achievements of Government is its accomplishment in the areas of Water Supply, Electricity, Housing, good Road Network and provision of other infrastructural facilities. This has prompted the State Government to give utmost priority to infrastructural development across the Sixteen LGAs in the State. Therefore, a sum of N14,059,270,868.00 which translates to 26% of the total Capital Budget is allocated to this sub-sector. Some critical roads have been identified across the three Senatorial Districts and provided for in the 2020 Budget. These roads which had been flagged off are Agbado-Ode-Isinbode-Omuo road, Ilupeju-Ire-Igbemo-Ijan road, Oye-Iye-Ikun-Otun road and Aramoko-Erijiyan-Ikogosi road.
Some of the critical legacy projects in the 2020 Budget are:
(i) Construction of Agbado- Ode and Omuo Roads – 500,000,000.00
(ii) Airport Project (Preparation stage) – 2,000,000,000.00
(iii) Completion of 2 Secretariat Buildings – 400,000,000.00
(iv) Construction of New Iyin Road – 4,231,000,000.00
(v) Intervention of Township/Intercity Roads in Ekiti State – 500,000,000.00
(vi) Routine maintenance of Township Roads – 400,000,000.00
(vii) Rehabilitation of Erijiyan – Aramoko Road – 500,000,000.00
(viii) Rehabilitation of Oye –Ayede –Iye – Otun Roads – 500,000,000.00
(ix) Construction of Ekiti Ring road (Planning stage) – 100,000,000.00
