As part of his ongoing consultations with leaders in Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1 in a bid to secure the support of the electorate ahead of the general election in 2023, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Air Vice Marshall Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo (Rtd.) paid courtesy visits to the Ogoga of Ikere Kingdom, Oba Adejimi Adu, Alagbado 1; and Ekiti State’s foremost Commissioner for Agriculture & Works, Engineer Tunde Fakoyede on Tuesday.
According to AVM Ojuawo, the visit speaks to the fact that Ekiti being the land of honour, recognizes prominent persons who are crucial to the socio-economic development of the state. He also mentioned that the consultation is an important part of his pre-campaign strategy ahead of the 2023 polls.
While receiving the House of Representatives candidate in his palace, Ogoga noted that the Ikere community and its environs have longed for a candidate worthy of their votes and that he has no doubt in the capacity of Ojuawo.
“We need quality representation for our people and I am confident that you will do well, understanding that you are from a highly reputable family in Ise-Ekiti. We also trust your capacity as a retired airforce officer who served the nation diligently and with all sense of dignity.
“Ojuawo and I are members of the same Golf Club and I have seen his leadership qualities come to play in managing the affair of the Club. It is also important to note that myself and the Arinjale of Ise-Ekiti, HRM Oba Adetunji Ayo Ajayi have a very healthy relationship, one that has helped us shape the fortunes of our kingdoms,” he said.
Speaking in the same vein, Engineer Fakoyede gave good remarks on the APC candidate, saying that he has always been a patriotic officer and a true son of Ise-Ekiti who has contributed his quota to the growth of his hometown.
“I have known Ojuawo for many years and I can confidently say that the people of Ekiti South Federal Constituency I have made the right decision to choose him as their representative. We must ensure that the right people get to power so they can honorably discharge their duties for the collective good of Ekiti State.
“On many occasions, he has distinguished himself as a man of honor who is fit to lead his people. His representation will no doubt complement the vision of the Governor-Elect, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
In his words, AVM Ojuawo expressed his gratitude to Ogoga of Ikere and Engineer Fakoyede for the warm reception that was accorded him, while assuring them of quality representation of the elected.
“I appreciate your immeasurable support and I want to assure you of my commitment to the development of this Constituency if elected. With your support and ideas, I believe we will do more to bring the dividends of democracy to our people,” he said.
