
The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ekiti State, Hon. Biodun Omoleye has decried the worrisome rate of youth involvement in all sorts of social vices across the country.
Omoleye stressed that engagement in drug abuse, drug peddling, cybercrime and unnecessary migration for the surposed greener pasture at the detriment of their lives, was not the best at this material time in Nigeria.
He implored them, to channel their energy at innovative activities, capable of positioning them as the true leaders of tomorrow who will change the course of things.
The Chief of Staff gave the counsel while receiving award of recognition from the executive arm of the African Students Union Parliament, ASUP in his office in Ado Ekiti.
“I am so honored, that you have come all the way to recognize me, I will not disappoint you, I will continue to support meaningful youth developments and continually dedicate myself to the advancement of those ideals that you represent”
Earlier, the Speaker of ASUP, Hon. Solomon Mensah in his remarks described Hon. Omoleye as a worthy youth mobilizer whose antecedents in the course of youth emancipation remains unequall in this part of the country.
Mensah explained that the PAN African distinguished leadership citation is usually conferred on individuals who lived an examplary selfless life dedicated to promoting strong moral values of a typical African society.
According to the Speaker of ASUP, such personality must have demonstrated strong family life, promoted international harmony, committed to a renewed PAN african ideology and be a responsible media personality.
Other qualities he mentioned included the display of a peaceful culture that transcend race, ethnicity, national and religious barrier.
“A PAN Africanist constitutes the fullfillment of the hope of all ages, a unified African of peace entrenched in the harmonization of both spiritual and material dimensions.” He added.
