
Ekiti State Government, through the Office of Chief of Staff, has met with some indigents of the state for distribution of cash gifts to alleviate their financial challenges.
While addressing the beneficiaries, Ekiti State Chief of Staff, Mr. Biodun Omoleye said that that Governor Kayode Fayemi led administration is keen on providing essential supports to deprived persons in the state.
He described the grants as an extension of love to the beneficiaries adding that it is only important for any government to be attentive to the plight of the people and ensure they enjoy the dividends of democracy.

“We understand the financial situations of some of our people and we have decided to assist them in that regard. These grants is provided majorly to support students who could not pay their tuitions, some aged ones who could not afford medical bills and to some who’s businesses or petty trades needs some sort of financing,” he said.
Some respondents explained their positions on why they need the grants.
Explaining his needs, Mr. Adeoti M. Sunday, 67, from Ekiti West LGA said he is about to undergo a surgery on his right hand following a previous procedure. He therefore seeks financial support for a successful operation.

Arolasuyi Ruth Olawumi, 34, is from Ido/Osi Local Government Area (LGA). A graduate of Guidance and Counseling Education from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti explained that she wrote a letter to the government seeking a job opportunity. She however got a response from the Chief of Staff explaining that she has been enlisted for a grant by the government.
Abegunde Bose Omolara is a 35-year old graduate of English Education from EKSU who is from Ekiti South-West LGA also seeking job opportunity with the government.
Onidelu Oyinbo is a 38-year old musician from Oye LGA who needs the support of the government to fund his musical career and also provide him a job for sustenance.
Folorunso Ajayi is a 37-year old Fish Farmer from Ijero LGA who needs the financial support of the government to boost his business.
Another beneficiary, Azeez Ismail from Ado-Ekiti LGA said he needs the financial assistance of the government to revive his baking business.
Present at the event are; Senior Special Assistant on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Mrs. Bola Solanke, Special Assistant on Youths and Student Matters Mr. Ademiloye, Special Assistant on Protocol (Government House Facilities) Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim among others.
