EKSG re-positions Signage & Advert Agency for efficiency
The Ekiti State Government has taken another decisive step to improve
on its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) as it makes the Signage and
Advertisements Agency to now oversee the Firm on Mobile Advert headed
by one Chief Nathaniel Aladesin for effective and optimal performance.
Speaking with Journalists shortly after a meeting held with the
Consultancy Firm on Mobile Advert, the Director General of the Ekiti
State Signage and Advertisements Agency, Mr. Sunkanmi Onipede said the
repositioning became imperative to put the Agency on the right track
to improve on the Internally Generated Revenue of the State.
The Director General said that the Firm which was under Internal
Revenue before had been placed under Signage Agency for proper
monitoring.
According to him, the Consultancy Firm would henceforth employ prompt
payment approach and remit money directly to the account of the State
Government.
Mr. Onipede who pointed out the low revenue generation by the
Consultant charged the Firm to redouble its efforts in order to meet
up with the target which according to him had been raised.
The Agency boss also disclosed that Signage Agency which was placed
under the Board of Internal Revenue by the last administration had
been detached from the Board and relocated inside the Old Governor
Office, adding that the services of the Cost and Capital Firm situated
at the Textile Complex that was initially handling the job of Signage
Agency had also been disengaged.
In his own remark, the Consultant on Mobile Adverts, Chief Nathaniel
Aladesin who enumerated the challenges confronting the firm noted that
some of the motorists indulged in sharp practices by going to
neighbouring states to take their documents, which according to him,
have resulted in the low revenue generated by his Firm.
Chief Aladesin warned motorists indulging in such counterproductive
act to desist while soliciting the support of the Ekiti State Signage
and Advertisements Agency to checkmate the ugly trend to increase the
revenue.
