EKSG reaffirms making agriculture its economic mainstay
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Local Government and Community
Development, Prof. Adio Folayan has reaffirmed the commitment of the
present administration to making agricultural the mainstay of the
state socio-economic development.
Prof. Folayan gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of a – two
day Workshop on Optimizing Return on Poultry, Livestock Investment at
the Queen’s Hotel, Ado – Ekiti, by the JOFA Veterinary Services
Limited in conjunction with the state Ministry of Local Government and
Community Development.
The Commissioner stated that the workshop will promote the Fayemi-led
administration cardinal program on agriculture adding that it will
also give opportunity to access national and international financial
grants and aids for participants.
He added that the workshop will also empower the teeming populace at
the grassroots and create a reliable source for supplying eggs for the
Home Grown School Feeding Programme of the State.
Prof. Folayan who assured the participants of the readiness of the
financial partners which include DEID, CBN and USAID to provide
financial management and professional service for them, urged them to
make the best use of the opportunity afforded by the Ministry to
improve their own lots and the lots of Ekiti people.
The participants were drawn from the sixteen local government areas
and from the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development.
