
As Entrepreneurs in Ekiti State brace for the forthcoming Entrepreneurship Week, the Secretary, Planning Committee, Mr. Seyi Oscar Oyeleso has said that the event is billed to open doors of economic transformation in the state, yielding foreign investment and job opportunities for the youths.
According to the Secretary, the Ekiti Entrepreneurship Week which is scheduled to hold between 10th and 12th October 2019 in Ado-Ekiti will feature young entrepreneurs from various sectors, while attracting investors from corporate bodies and other startup agencies alike.
“The event, being a global phenomenon established in 2008, is in line with Governor Fayemi’s Ekiti agenda for the development of the state’s economy. Entrepreneurship Week, being a maiden event in the state is an opportunity for entrepreneurs and organizations to collaborate and strengthen the state’s entrepreneurship sphere.
“Activities include; Master class where model entrepreneurs will mentor and build the capacity of entrepreneurs in the state. There will be exhibitions for our young entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services during the event as well as talent hunts, training, and networking.
“We are inviting key players in various industries who are indigenes of the state as resource persons to proffer ways for young entrepreneurs to reach beyond traditional audiences and connect to a global community for impacts.
“We are presently in partnership with Longrich, a renowned world-class manufacturing company to initiate a product empowerment scheme that will generate a steady flow of weekly or monthly income for our entrepreneurs. This will enable them to establish a personal sales business that can generate income and capital in a short while for reinvestment,” he said.
Also speaking, President Ekiti state chamber of commerce, industry, mines and Agriculture, Chief Akosile said that the chamber is set to support the activities of the government for a successful outing adding that it has been actively involved in the planning of the event to harness talents and entrepreneurs in the business sector of the state for the event.
“We are ready to showcase active and potential entrepreneurs in the state while also bringing in investors to groom and invest in the SME scope of Ekiti to sustain government efforts on economic development of the state,” he said.
