All plans are in top gear to stage the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) annual forum, popularly known as Architects’ Colloquium later in the month at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
The programme, which is also known as Architecture Forum, is expected to host some dignitaries from the presidency, state executives and foreign experts.
This year, Architecture and the National Development Agenda XII, has been chosen as its theme for the three-day intensive programme, which has been a source of inspiration and professional development to many.
The Executive Governor, Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi is among eminent Nigerians expected to grace occasion. According to ARCON, Dr. Fayemi, is billed to give keynote speech.
Director of Colloquium, Jimoh Faworaja, said this year’s forum would be maximally beneficial to all participants, including professionals in the building industry, research institutions, educators, agencies responsible for housing and developmental control, students, exhibitors and the general public.
Sub-Themes, according Faworaja, would include reworking the past architecture, collapsed building, contemporary issues in architecture and sustainability with energy efficiency in buildings.
The forum is expected to provide a platform for the participants to relate with other professionals, statutory bodies and stakeholders and other vital benefits.
ARCON president, Sir Dipo Ajayi, said this year’s colloquium, is compelling, as it would create avenue to interact professionally, discuss and dialogue specifically on architecture, built environment, national development and related issues.
