Human knowledge is limited to human understanding, Ekiti should be grateful that our then overlord oga madam didn’t impose diaspora type persons on our state assembly, believe me, she would have gotten away with it, like she got her way in all other things Ekiti and beneficiaries would defend the indefensible.
As the tenure of another state assembly session winds down, credit to whom it’s due. Rest in peace Rt Hon Afuye, a stabilizer. Deputy speaker, Rt Hon Hakeem Jamiu, my respect for your person is inestimable and yes you earned it. To the many dishonorable honourables (especially my own constituency representative who I continually advise to desist from sharing pornographic videos and also to stop wasting resources on sexual escapades with secondary school girls just because they are above consenting age), good luck to all in your next endeavor.
Those who will return to the assembly should by now be taking stock of their opportunities (wasted & harnessed). Funny, 20 out of the 26 can’t comprehend written words once it exceeds 3 sentences. That is the representation we today have in Ekiti assembly.
SMS candidates!!!
The quality of these representation is traceable to the self preservation style of the immediate past governor, but ultimately a woefully and barbaric political understanding of his chief political strategist in the person of Biodun Omoleye. Evidence are abound but the readily recollectible one is his failure to clinge the governorship or senatorial tickets which he so desires. I remain myself and I have promised to showcase his Abuja outing (failure or success) as a house of representative member. Biodun Omoleye never won the party primary, I challenge him to speak to Ekiti on his emergence.
The thrust of this review, as stated in the headline is on the process of party primary, and the role of any governor.
Honorable Cyril Fasuyi, did the unthinkable, he displaced the unannounced PLACEHOLDER concept in Ekiti by evidentiary winning the Party primary, a process that even the so called party brainbox (biodun Omoleye) couldn’t. There are video evidences that juxtapose the process for both person’s.
Now, who the dishonorable members are remains clear to see.
Individuals constitute party, so when democrats use the phrase, party supremacy, for me it’s merely a cabal operating often in manners that favour their favorite, as the reversal of the initial fake results that was written against honourable Teju was later discarded. I congratulate her on her success, I witnessed the entire process at the primary election venue.
Memory lane and how party supremacy in Ekiti had always cut the dreams of effective representation. I recall how the party ticket was unjustly taken from a loyal partyman in moba LGA and given a female representative during JKF1, the ultimate outcome was a betrayal of party by the female beneficiary of this unjust and yes, guess who choreographed the unjust perpetuated (how the mighty fall)
Against all odds, Hon JOBA has proven himself Worthy of the trust placed upon him, though my support during his first outing was for another aspirant. I dove my hat to Hon JOBA, one of the effective representation at this current state house of assembly. The loss of the Ise assembly seat was a classical test case of an unpopular candidate in a popular party, in actuality not that the legislative arm will miss any meaningful contribution from the garrulous person of Deji Ajayi in the next house of assembly.
Ekiti can’t and shouldn’t expect much difference from the next assembly, yes. The emergence of most members is again questionable. The only saving face factor is that BAO had no input into the selection process as he was openly robbed of his rights of “first refusal”.
Honestly, none of those members that are not returning will be missed as their presence is best described as a snake’s passage on a mountain, presence not felt.
I am of the opinion that until Ekiti can provide alternative career path for our youth, the era of dishonourable Honorables will remain with our political system.
With the current state of weaponized poverty as a tool for manipulation, our youth will continue to make themselves available for dirty jobs, scallywags. Commissioned authors that dare not ascribe their names to articles, lots of hatchet under direct supervision of little Hitler of Ekiti from Ijurin Ekiti…
