The highly cerebral and dexterous vice chancellor of FULOKOJA, Prof Olayemi Akinwunmi started 2025 calendar year on an exploratory note by seeking further collaborative assistance with relevant government agencies.
The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, on Friday 10th January visited the new Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS), Dr. Marcus Olaniyi Ogunbiyi, to solicit more support for the University’s Agribusiness and the newly established Faculty of Agriculture. The VC, who was accompanied by the University Farm Manager, Mr. Safiyanu Salihu Abdullahi, thanked the FMAFS for donating a well furnished and equipped Agribusiness Incubation Center/Cassava Processing Factory & constructing access road linking the University Farm area.
During the visit, the Permanent Secretary commended FUL for judiciously utilizing the Agribusiness structure donated by the Ministry in 2023 & putting it to good use. Dr. Ogunbiyi promised to visit Federal University Lokoja to have firsthand knowledge of other critical needs with a view to assisting the University with more tailored interventions that would help in maximizing its vast agricultural potentials for rapid development.
Similarly, the VC also met with the new Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abdullahi Yesufu Ribadu, at his office in Abuja to congratulate him on his recent appointment and wish him successful tenure in office as the new NUC boss.
