
Kogi State Governor His Excellency Yahaya Bello has charged party members, stakeholders and executives to eschew politics of bitterness and embrace each other ahead of November 16 Gubernatorial election in the state.
The governor gave the advice while receiving the Executive members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress from the Central Senatorial District on Sunday at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja.
According to the governor, ”Whatever your interest in the forthcoming primary election of our party and the general election, you should remember that peace is a pancea for good governance and development to take place. You have no reason to cause violence before, during and after the election. I urge you to continue to make peace and embrace everybody.
”As for the primary election, I will not impose myself on you but you are to choose among the aspirants who you want to fly the ticket of our party. My only prayers is that may you make the right choice that will be good for our State”.
Governor Bello thanked the people for their support for his administration in the last three and half years and urged them to remain supportive to his quest to consolidate on the achievements his administration has been able to record over the years.
The Governor also disclosed that no administration in the history of the state has faced litigation as his noting that over three years of his administration was marred with distraction. He, therefore, urged the people to stand by him to ensure the victory that will enable him to consolidate on the success achieved so far.
The people of the area commended the Governor for his political will to stamp out insecurity from the constituency and thanked him for the infrastructure his administration has been able to provide across the state while pledging unalloyed support for his candidacy ahead of Nov 16 Guber poll.
