Joe Igbokwe announces serious illness, family tragedies


A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Engr. Joe Igbokwe, has taken to social media to announce his travails during the Yuletide. They include family tragedies and serious sickness, “THE KIND OF HEALTH CHALLENGE I HAVE NOT WITNESSED SINCE I WAS BORN.”
He, however, disclosed that he is “RECOVERING VERY FAST AND BY THE GRACE OF GOD” would return to his Lagos base from his Nnewi hometown in Anambra State this weekend.
Below, unedited, is Chief Igbokwe’s post on his Facebook wall on Tuesday evening, January 12, 202:
“I HAVE BEEN IN NNEWI SINCE DECEMBER 25th 2020. I LOST MY MOTHER IN LAW WHO LIVED WITH ME IN LAGOS FOR YEARS ON 22nd DECEMBER 2020. I  LOST MY BROTHER’S SON WHO WAS JUST 50 AFTER A PROTRACTED ILLNESS. MY SENIOR BROTHER LOST HIS WIFE ALSO. IN THE MIDST OF THESE TROUBLES I LOST MY HEALTH, THE KIND OF HEALTH CHALLENGE I HAVE NOT WITNESSED SINCE I WAS BORN. I HAVE NEVER BEEN HOSPITALIZED FOR ONE DAY SINCE I WAS BORN. I AM RECOVERING VERY FAST AND BY THE GRACE OF GOD I WILL BE BACK IN THE LAND GREAT AND LIMITLESS OPPORTUNITIES, THE LAND OF GRACE, THE ECONOMIC  NERVE CENTER AND THE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE THIS WEEKEND. TO GOD BE THE GLORY.”
