Ahmed Idris, the beleaguered Accountant-General of the Federation, has been suspended by the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, Ahmed Idris has been suspended from office by Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Dr. Zainab Ahmed, for his suspected participation in a fraud investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Idris was detained by the anti-corruption commission in connection with an alleged N80 billion scam.
Wilson Uwajaren, a spokesperson for the EFCC, confirmed Idris’ detention on Monday after he failed to respond to the agents’ invitations.
