The Ministry of Justice has held its Black Tie Dinner on Friday,18th October 2019. The Black Tie Dinner was held at the Abiodun Adetiloye Hall, Fountain Hotel, Ado Ekiti to commemorate the 1st Year Anniversary of the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti State,Mr Olawale Fapohunda while welcoming the invited Guests at the Dinner, appreciated the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi and his amiable wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi for their support and contributions to the development of the Ministry of Justice.
Olawale Fapohunda also highlighted the various activities and achievements of the Ministry, which include: Publication of Ekiti State Palace Court Judgements, Enactment of the Prohibition of the Gender Based Violence Law and Ekiti State Transition Law, among others.
Fapohunda also used the event to announce the establishment of the Ministry of Justice Honours List. An initiative aimed at recognising the Staff who excel in their duties. The recipients of the 2019 Ministry of Justice Honours list were recognised. They are:

Eniola Arogundade
Olakunle Akinlabi
Felix Akinola
Ibironke Odetola
Oluwaseun Fasote
Adepetu Funmilayo.
The Attorney- General also recognised the sterling contribution of Mr. Adeniyi Familoni, former Director in the Ministry of Justice and the First State Counsel in the Ministry of Justice to be appointed Permanent Secretary outside the Ministry of Justice.
The wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, while responding on behalf of the Governor appreciated the Attorney General of Ekiti State for his giant strides and contributions to the development of Justice and Humanity in Ekiti State, particularly on the Enactment of the Prohibition of the Gender Based Violence Law 2019.
The Black Tie Dinner was attended by various personalities in the State which include, Deputy Governor, Bisi Egbeyemi, Permanent Secretary and Solicitor General of the Federation, Dayo Apata SAN Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Mr. Abiodun Oyebanji, Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr. Funminiyi Afuye and some Members of the State House of Assembly. Lawyers, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Judges and some of their spouses were equally in attendance.
