He idolises Hitler, consuming his speeches, studying Mein Kampf, and watching propaganda films. Trump is now appointing a team of inexperienced loyalists, people who will rubber-stamp his every move.
With his yes-men in place, the stage will be set for a catastrophic event—manufactured or exploited—that he can use to seize powers never before seen in the United States.Yet, Americans seem oblivious. By electing a convicted criminal, they’ve opened the door to a normalisation of corruption and criminality, amplified by a compliant media.
Thankfully, I believe the American power structures won’t allow Trump to cross the line into autocracy. Figures like Elon Musk or Kash Patel, if tasked with implementing Trump’s authoritarian agenda, will face walls of resistance. In the worst-case scenario, patriots will act decisively to remove these threats to democracy.
Trump dreams of becoming an imperial figure, turning his family into American royalty. But it won’t happen. Resistance at home will be fierce, and his threats to the global community will provoke resistance abroad as well. Unlike historical despots like Napoleon, Hitler, or Stalin, Trump lacks the military discipline, strategic thinking, and leadership skills they possessed.
He relies on demagoguery and the blind loyalty of his desperate, uneducated followers. When he inevitably fails—when the cost of living rises, jobs disappear, and he fails to deliver on his promises—those followers will turn against him, as mobs always do with false prophets.Let history be a lesson: the demagogue will rise, but resistance will prevail.
