APC Women stakeholders, Ado-Ekiti chapter. It was gathered from the collective decision taken at the meeting held between the Ado-Ekiti LG chapter of APC Women Stakeholders and Motunde Fajuyi, the most popular and acceptable aspirant, who is contesting for the post of Chairmanship in the forthcoming local government election in Ado Ekiti; that they feel blessed by God to have been given a futuristic leader, like Motunde Fajuyi who is ready and prepared to proffer lasting solutions to the developmental issues of Ado Ekiti.
The Local Government APC women leader reiterated during the meeting that elective leaders at the grassroot level must be people of the same like minds with the Ekiti State governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi; whose aim is to project equal representation, progressiveness, development in all sectors and value reformation and restoration.
The leader stressed that, as a woman, it will be easy to identify the areas where people at the grassroot need assistance.
Aside from the experience she had gathered while her husband (Late Chief Adedayo Fajuyi) was in office as the first executive chairman of Ado local government in the present democracy and the first ALGON Chairman in the State. Her experience also as a Caretaker Chairman in one of the LCDAs created by Dr. Kayode Fayemi in his first term in office cannot be left unmentioned. “Within the three months of her stay in office, she embarked on projects that someone who had been appointed over a year could not achieved”, this was stated by a member of the team.
It is on record that with the initiative and influence of Motunde Fajuyi as the pioneer National Secretary to the Women in ALGON (WALGON), implemented Immunization programmes nine times to fight epidemic diseases between 1999 and 2003 in Ekiti in an unprecedented style.
The programme that benefited over 660 people at each stage had great impact in promoting health sector in the state and was used as an empowerment tool. A member of the stakeholders who was present at the event and who benefited from the Immunization exercise then gave the evidence that she participated in almost all the programmes as implemented by Mrs Fajuyi, that the little she got from the programme assisted in settling her wards school fees and maintains a sustainable trade till now.
She concluded “Motunde Fajuyi remains the best for Ado Local Government Chairman, as she has a lot in stock for us and the society at large.”
