Hon. Bello Abdullahi Balogun, the Majority Leader of Kogi State House of Assembly has been elavated to occupy the position of the National Chairman of the forum of Majority Leaders of State Legislators in Nigeria by the members of the forum.
Before his elavation to his new position, Hon. Bello Abdullahi Balogun was the representative of the North Central Geopolitical Zone of the forum of Majority Leaders of State Legislators in Nigeria.
The promotion came as a result of his outstanding performance and dedication to duty.
In his acceptance speech, he said he is happy with the development and ready to work with everyone in the forum. He said he would work to ensure best legislation is put in place to deliver dividends of Democracy to the people of Nigeria. He also advised members of the forum to work assidiously with their Speakers and their respective state governors to ensure that good governance is brought to the people.
He further urged the members of the forum to continue to schedule legislation and manage the business on the floor effectively.
Leadership is primarily a function of party unity, when party unity is high, members are more likely to encourage and tolerate centralised party leadership, he added.
Finally, he thanked the members for the love they have shown to him and promised to act in line with the constitution of the forum.
