
An Ado Ekiti-based Non Governmental Organization (NGO) has expressed readiness to support the efforts of Ekiti State Government in curbing open defecation and indiscriminate waste disposal.
The Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of the organization, Mrs Oluwaseyi Ebenezer made the promise at a press conference in Ado Ekiti, saying that the organisation would complement government efforts at ensuring a cleaner environment even as
the State Government had already provided waste bins and incinerators in strategic locations across the State capital, for people to dump their refuse.
The NGO said it would carry out its clean up works in collaboration with the State Ministries of Information and Values Orientation, Environment, and Ekiti State Waste Management Authority.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, Aare ‘Muyiwa Olumilua commended the Chief Executive of the NGO, Mrs.Oluwaseyi Ebenezer for establishing the clean up outfit and for organizing the cleaning exercise
Aare Olumilua advised other private sector players particularly in environmental protection to support the government in ridding the state of epidemics especially in putting an end to open defecation in the State .

State Government functionaries who gave their goodwill messages also condemned open defecation, stressing that every house in Ekiti State, must have toilets.
They commended the NGO for turning up at this crucial point in time.
It is recalled that Governor Kayode Fayemi last week launched the blueprint for action against Open Defecation in the State.
