Kidnapping for ransom started in South-south and extended to Southeast, before Fulani guys copied them. As long as our leaders continue to speak half truths our redemption would remain forlorn.
The Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has called on traditional rulers, town unions and vigilante groups in the Southeast to help fish out local kidnappers and killers and hand them over to security agencies.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural group also lamented that a few miscreants in Igbo land have taken advantage of the current state of insecurity in the region, which it attributed to “Fulani rampage”, to perpetrate criminal acts such as Kidnappings and killing of innocent citizens.
The President General of Ohanaeze Indigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, made the call on Saturday in a statement he issued, adding that the call became expedient with the current security breaches in Enugu State in the past few months.
Nwodo said: “In the past two and half months, Enugu State, which hitherto was the safest State in Southern Nigeria has witnessed very unusual security breaches.
