The Ekiti State Commissioner for Local Government and Community
Development, Prof. Adio Folayan has reiterated the commitment of the
Fayemi-led administration to ensuring adequate protection of the
rights of the entire Ekiti people.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti while receiving officials of the National Human
Right Commission, Prof. Folayan said that the State Government was
ready to collaborate with interested individuals, corporate
organizations and donor agencies to wage was against human right
violation in the State .
Folayan said that the focus was to create and sustain awareness in the
grassroots adding that Governor Fayemi was a Human Right Activist who
is passionate about human rights and made several laws to protect the
right of citizens during his first term in office.
Responding, the leader of the National Human Right Commission in
Ekiti, Mr. Theophilus Gbadeyan commended the Fayemi-led administration
for efforts at protecting the right of the people in the State.
Mr. Gbadeyan explained that the Human Right Commission assists people,
particularly the indigent who are not capable to claim their rights
when violated, at no cost.
