It was an afternoon to remember today, 14th September, 2019, at Delar College of Education, Ido-Ekiti, where the inaugural convocation of the College took place. Also, on the occasion, an award of Academic Administration Excellence was presented to the erstwhile Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof. P.O. Aina, as a mark of his dedication to the delivery of quality University Administration. While presenting the award, the Proprietor of the College, Professor M.A.B. Fakorede, said the awardee had been found worthy of the presentation because of his unequalled antecedent in Academic Administration; which has spanned decades, both at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (OAU), and later as the Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (EKSU).

Responding, the awardee, Professor P.O. Aina appreciated the proprietor and the College Council for finding him worthy for the award. He pledged to continue to identify with the College. Speaking further, Prof. Aina, admonished the graduands to be determined to succeed, more so with the good academic background afforded them by Delar College. To that extent, he advised them to dream big and live their dreams. Drawing largely from his humble background, he said he was sure the graduands were destined to succeed, if only they could service their dreams with hard work, persistence and self-discipline. While rounding off his speech, Prof. Aina admonished the young graduands to be masters in taking opportunities whenever such surfaced.
In all, about 1000 graduands were convocated, while prizes were given to the outstanding students. Meanwhile, the incumbent Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Prof. Edward Olanipekun promised to facilitate the admission of the best graduating student whose CGPA was 5.0. He also promised to ensure that Delar College and the University co-operated towards actualizing the academic vision of the College.
Earlier in the day, HRM. Oba Ayorinde Ilori-Faboro, the Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti had commissioned the Arc. Ademola Oluwadiya Lecture Theater. The convocation ceremony attracted eminent academics and personalities from O.A.U and EKSU. Among them were Prof. Edward Olanipekun (VC, EKSU), Prof. V.O. Adeoluwa, (Provost, College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti), Prof. S.S. Asaolu, Prof. Olaogun, Prof. Aribisala, Prof. Dele Adetoye, Dr. I.O. Abereijo (Director, IFEDS, OAU), and the Registrar of Ekiti State University, Barrister Akin Arogundade among others.
