
REASON BUHARI FOUND DiFFICULT WHO TO WORK WITH- Cacol. By Gbenga Adewale
The Buhari Administration reason why it found difficult to see who to work with in his anti corruption system is lack of same dream leaders.
The Chairman for CACOL comrade Debo revealed this recently at the Public Presentation and Book Launched titled Media and Elections:Professional Responsibilities of Journalists by Lanre Arogundade held at Eko FM multi purpose hall,that The President Buhari had operationalized everything that would make him succeed in his Anti corruption government to the extent that many of his member of cabinet that just left regretted joining his administration because they could not get as much as they will.
Debo emphasize that they expected in 4 years of this new administration to know the assets and baseline of possible new appointees of Nigeria before comment made but explained that any chosen Ministers shall not expect to enrish themselves under this government.
He mentioned that Femi Adeshina and Lai mohammed who were there before and more could testify that Buhari Administration does not give out gratification neither allows anything tamper the Purse and Budget.
Comerade Debo spoke to silence also false social media that has been reported as falsehood loses its level of integrity by a certain percentage that does not really matter one breaking the news at all.But what important was once they see your source as being reliable shall always respect your stable even if you are the last to publish to the public.He said.
Lanre Arogundade expressed in his address speech that we needed more stakeholders dialogue that involves political parties,media proprietors,group,INEC and Security Agents to readdress the issues that Election coverage for journalists is just like warfare that need not just Insurance from NUJ alone but also
, Insurance from the Employers especially in Nigeria where people are afraid to go out and vote.He explained that the title of the book gives an indication that there is huge responsibility on the media in the coverage of Election in Nigeria that as we all know as the media is saddled with enormous responsibilities during elections period as no greater time is the agenda setting role of the media is more important than the time of election.As the citizens depend more on the information from media sources as an indication of electoral choices to make when voting.
Arogundade stated that there is need for the mediaprofessionals,journalists,reporters,Editors and media managers to understand the imperatives and mechanisms that will make us to be more professionals ,more conflict sensitive,more gender supportive,and indeed be more public interest/issue oriented in our coverage of the electoral and political processes.
